who we are

Boys* in Sync is a transdisciplinary performance collective from South Africa, Denmark, Norway and Germany. Our works combine elements and methods of contemporary dance, post dramatic theatre and the South African storytelling culture as an expression of our artistic backgrounds. We work on the basis of our respective gender constructions, personal biographies & body archives.

what we do

As Boys* in Sync we are researching the phenomenon of cheesiness, implementing a certain nostalgia of the 90s boy band phenomenon and mixing, deconstructing and queering it with today’s reflection of masculinity.

We like to set ourselves impossible scores, fail while trying, and present its outcome through moving our bodies, voices and souls.

We are working in a flat structure; all of us producing, performing, shaping the performance, working with notions of shared safe spaces, breaking gender norms and borders of nations and relations.

Ragni Halle

I am an actor by education, with a beating heart for puppetry. Sometimes I’m a director, scenographer or writer.
I work in other peoples productions, and I make my own performances. I’ve also given workshops in puppeteering and devising strategies, in Norway and abroad.

Jay Tebogo Fiskerstrand

I am a South African and Norwegian performance artist from Johannesburg. I studied Physical Acting (BA) at the Norwegian Theatre Academy in Fredrikstad, Norway and Acting (MA) at the Institute for Performing Arts in Liverpool, England. I work in the UK, Norway, Germany and South Africa.

Simon David Zeller

I am a queer artist and producer, educated in Applied Theatre Studies (Giessen), Acting (NTA Norway) and Directing (DDSKS Denmark).
I am researching on performative situations outside the conventional theatre repertoire, turning them into readymades on stage, working in Germany, Denmark and Norway.

Gregers Hansen

I am a Polish-Norwegian freelance music and performance artist based in Oslo with an artistic background in acting, which I studied at the Norwegian Theatre Academy in Fredrikstad. In my works, I am researching on the element of humor, mixing various entertainment and musical genres.

Jakob Schnack Krog

I am a freelance actor, dancer and physical performer, working in and with contemporary theatre, dance & choreography, writing and delivering text, partnering & contact improvisation and music. I studied Acting (NTA Norway), Physical Theatre and Dance (Denmark), working mostly in Germany, Denmark and Norway.
